Auto Transport Service - Car Transport Delivery
When your car from your auto transport service delivers your vehicle to its destination you'll want to be prepared.
- Try to only receive your car from the auto transport service during the daytime. It will make it much easier to spot any damage and to take clear pictures of your vehicle.
- For overseas auto transport where you have to import your vehicle to a new country, ask your auto shipping service service or its representative to let you know you the actual day your vehicle will arrive so you can do whatever you might need to do in order to satisfy customes requirements. Our International Auto Transport page covers this in more detail.
- Take the the pre-shipment inspection report and pictures you took of your vehicle before it was shipped when it comes time to pick it up or otherwise take delivery from your car transport company.
- Inspect your car carefully with the auto transport service representative for any damage that wasn't present when you delivered the vehicle to them for shipping. Take additional photos, ideally with a date stamp on them, of any damages that didn't exist when the vehicle shipper first picked up your car.
- Note any and all damage to the car on the inspection report and get the driver to sign it before you leave with your car.
- Ask for any forms that are required to file a claim if you need to do so. Make sure you understand what you need to do in order to file a claim and get information on whom you will need to get in tourch with in order to follow up on your claim.
